How Can I Bulk Import Users?

FastField provides a convenient way to add multiple users to your account at once. This process can save you time and effort when onboarding a large number of users. This article will explain how to bulk import users to your FastField account.

1. Contact FastField Support

To set up bulk user import, please first reach out to our dedicated Support Team and request a bulk user import spreadsheet. They will provide you with the necessary template for user import.

2. Prepare the Bulk User Import Spreadsheet

Once you've received the bulk user import spreadsheet from our Support Team, it's time to set it up. This spreadsheet serves as the tool to add multiple users to your account simultaneously.
Fill out the spreadsheet with the following required details for each user:
First Tab: Users (*Required)
    • First Name: Enter the user's first name.
    • Last Name: Enter the user's last name.
    • User Name: Provide the user's email address, which will serve as their username.
    • Password: Decide whether you want users to confirm their user accounts and set up their own passwords or if you want to assign them a pre-defined password.
      • If you want users to confirm their accounts and set their passwords, you can leave the password column blank.
      • If you prefer to assign a pre-defined password and have users' accounts confirmed, include the password in the spreadsheet.
Second Tab: Roles
    • User Name: Enter the user's email address.
    • Role: Enter the user's role.
Third Tab: Groups
    • User Name: Enter the user's email address.
    • Group: Enter the user's group.
Fourth Tab: Libraries
    • User Name: Enter the user's email address.
    • Library: Enter the user's library.

3. Submit the Completed Spreadsheet

After you've filled out the bulk user import spreadsheet with the necessary user details, send it back to FastField Support. They will use this spreadsheet to add the users to your account.

4. User Confirmation and Password Setup

  • User Confirmation: If you chose to leave the password column blank in the spreadsheet, users will receive an email notification inviting them to confirm their accounts and set up their own passwords. They will follow the provided link to create their login credentials.
  • Pre-Defined Password: If you included a pre-defined password in the spreadsheet, users will receive login credentials with the specified password. They can log in using these credentials without the need for further confirmation.
