Overview
There may be times when you want to forward a form to a third party to retrieve a signature. This is especially useful for customer approval signatures. The setup process is simple and can be done in two different ways:
- In the Form Builder
- On the Global Workflow page
Setting Up in the Form Builder
By collecting a user or third party's email address in a form, you can have the form forwarded to that address in order to collect their signature:
1. Turn on the External Forms Add-On.

- Account > Company Billing > Subscription > Add-Ons
- You have 30 free external submissions per month.

2. Open the form that you want to collect a customer signature on in the Form Builder.
3. Create a Text Field and label it (we've written Customer_Email in the example below).
4. Make sure you have included a Signature Field in your form.
5. Once your form is complete, click on the Delivery button in the Form Builder.
6. Select the Forward Delivery integration.
7. Select Field under Forward To: and select the corresponding field key (in our case, it's Customer_Email).
Setting Up With Global Workflow
Another way to set up the process of forwarding a form to a third party for a signature is with Global Workflow:
- Go to Workflow > Global Workflow on the left navigation menu in the Portal.
- Select New Workflow in the upper right corner.
- Name your workflow and select the form you want to create this for.
- Under Perform these actions, select Forward.
- Under Get the forward recipient from, select A field from the submission.
- Then, select the corresponding field key (Customer_Email in our example above).
- Finally, you'll need to enter a message that will appear in the recipient's App inbox.
