Overview
The web form feature, available as part of the External Forms optional add-on, allows you to configure a form that users can fill out using a web browser. This feature is particularly useful for collecting data from individuals who are not registered as users within the FastField system or do not have access to mobile applications. Please note that enabling this feature may come at an additional cost, and you can enable it in the billing section of your account.
How to Configure a Web Form
To set up your form as a web form:
- Create your form in the Form Builder and publish it live.
- In the Form Builder, go to Advanced Options > Set Up Web Form to configure your form for the web.
- Check the Allow public submissions box. This will allow public access to form submissions and will show customizable webform settings. (Refer to the next section to learn more about customizing your web form.)
How to Customize Your Web Form
Once you've enabled the Allow public submissions option in the Set Up Web Form menu (see the previous section), you'll be presented with a number of customization options for your web form. The options are categorized under three tabs: General, Embed on Website, and Send Link.
General Tab
- Allow saving in-progress submissions?: This indicates that you allow non-authenticated users to save their in-progress submissions for this form. Note that the web form is saved as a cookie in the browser, so as long as Block All Cookies is not enabled then the form will save. It is also important to note that autosave will only save after a number of fields have been filled in.
- Header Logo: Upload a custom header logo to personalize your form's appearance. This will add a banner style image a the top of the form. It is recommended that you upload an image no taller than 100 pixels high so that it doesn't require too much vertical screen space on mobile browsers.
- Time (Seconds) to Auto Navigate on Completion: Set up an auto-redirect timing to navigate users to a specific webpage upon form completion.
Embed on Website Tab
- Allowed Websites: Here, you can enter a list of websites you'd like to allow for this form to be embedded in.
Send Link Tab
- Anonymous (Public) URL: Here, a public URL will be generated for individuals to access the form. This URL does not require user authentication and is publicly accessible to anyone with the link.
- Get QR Code: Optionally, you can generate a unique QR code to allow users to access the form from their mobile devices by scanning the QR code.
