A Team Layer is a map-based view that displays the location and activity of your team members using FastField’s Tracking features. It allows you to see where users are, what they’re working on, and how they’re moving throughout the day—all in one centralized map view.

How Team Layers Work
Team Layers collect location data from the FastField mobile app and display each user as a pin on the Tracking map.
This data is generated when team members use enabled tracking features, such as:
- Check In / Check Out
- Location Breadcrumbs (background tracking)
- Form Actions (form start and submit events)
Each user’s activity is plotted on the map, giving you visibility into their current or last known location.
What Can You See?
Team Layers provide insight into your field team’s activity, including:
- Current or last known user location
- Movement history (breadcrumbs)
- Check-in and check-out locations
- Form submission locations
- Active users in the field

View where team members are in real time or based on their most recent activity.

Click on a user’s pin to view additional details such as:
- User name
- Last activity
- Timestamp of last update
- Related form activity (if applicable)

When Should You Use a Team Layer?
Use a Team Layer when you want to:
- Monitor where your team is throughout the day
- Improve dispatching and resource allocation
- Verify field activity and coverage
- Increase visibility into team productivity
- Support safety and accountability for field workers
Example Use Case
A service company uses a Team Layer to monitor technicians in the field. Dispatchers can see which technician is closest to a new job, track completed work via form submissions, and ensure coverage across service areas.
Important Notes
- Team Layers require tracking features to be enabled in Company Settings > Mobile Apps
- Users must have the FastField mobile app installed and active for location data to be captured
- Location accuracy depends on device settings and permissions
- Team Layers are available only on Pro plans with Tracking enabled
