This article explains how to create and use a Quickbase integration with your FastField account using a user token. Quickbase integrations can be used to:
- Send submitted form data from FastField into mapped Quickbase tables
- Create FastField forms from existing Quickbase tables
- Create FastField data tables that are linked to Quickbase tables as a data source
This integration method is an alternative to fully connecting your FastField account to your Quickbase realm via the Quickbase Admin Console. It uses a Quickbase user token to connect FastField to your Quickbase realm.
User tokens come with levels of permission to access certain tables. The permissions are inherited through user permissions set up in Quickbase. This integration is best suited for FastField customers who want to try connecting with Quickbase without fully committing to Quickbase single sign-on (SSO).

Setting up a Quickbase integration in FastField
There are a few areas in FastField where you can set up the integration:
- On the Integrations page
- When creating a data table
- When importing a Quickbase table to create a new form
- When creating a Global Workflow that connects to Quickbase
On the New Integration screen, enter a name for this integration, followed by your Quickbase realm URL and user token.
Finding your Quickbase realm URL
A realm is a domain within your Quickbase account. Your realm URL is your realm name + .quickbase.com (for example: builderprogram-jdoe.quickbase.com).
To locate your realm URL, log in to your realm in your Quickbase account. Find your realm URL in the address bar of your browser.
Finding your Quickbase user token
To find your user token or to generate a new one:
- Go to Quickbase and select your Quickbase user name in the top-right corner.
- Select Profile.
- Go to Manage User Tokens and select Manage my user tokens for...
- Copy your existing user token or generate a new user token. Make sure to assign the apps you'll be using in FastField.
- Copy the user token and paste it into the User Token field on the New Integration screen in FastField.
- Select Add to save your integration.
Tokens tied to Quickbase service accounts can also be used in your FastField Quickbase integration. Service accounts have the benefit of not being tied to a specific user. If you have a personnel change, these tokens will not need to be reset.
Allowing other FastField admins and builders to use the integration
By default, the Quickbase integration is only accessible by the admin or builder who created it. However, the integration creator can share it with other FastField admins and builders. This will allow them to connect forms, data tables, and workflow actions to Quickbase.
To give permission to specific admins and builders in your FastField account:
- In FastField, expand the Workflow menu, and then select Integrations.
- Edit an existing Quickbase integration (Actions > Edit) or create a new integration (+ New Integration).
- In the Permissions section, select Manage permissions.
- Select Add user to add a user to your list of permitted users. You can remove or add a user to this list at any time.
- Save your changes.
